Mastering Epoxy Maintenance
Cleaning
Use mild soap and water with a damp cloth or mop. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbers. Wipe spills immediately.
Maintanence
Apply fresh topcoat every 6-8 years for countertops and 3 years for concrete overlays depending on traffic and use.
Use trivets for microwaves and other appliances that emit heat. Use cutting boards and hot pads for hot items.
Countertop Stains
Scrub with 91% isopropyl alochol with a microfiber Rag or blue Scotch-Brite Sponge.
For tough stains, VERY GENTLY use SOS cleaner and a toothbrush.

What does the homeowner need to do?
Countertops: Before project start date, countertops need to be cleared, cleaned, and appliances moved away. Room temperature remains between 72-80 degrees during the project.
Garages and Concrete Floor: All items need to be removed from the garage. Slab needs to be at 52 degrees minimum to coat. Heaters are brought in for winter applications.
Can epoxy surfaces be repaired if damaged?
Yes, minor scratches and chips can often be repaired with patcher paste or epoxy adhesive pigmented to match.
Are epoxy surfaces heat resistant?
Epoxy surfaces are heat resistant to 150 degrees of constant heat and 200 degrees intermittent heat, but it’s best to use trivets or hot pads to protect the surface from extreme heat.
What should I avoid using on epoxy surfaces?
Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or sharp objects directly on epoxy surfaces to prevent damage.
What about sink removal for countertops?
Homeowner will have a licensed plumber remove the sink for the project, and install upon completion
